    ICLB Jersey & AIS USA

    Academic Partnership

Through its academic and professional structures in Jersey and the United States, MYUNI operates in partnership with the International Centre for Law and Business (ICLB) and Advanced International Studies LLC (USA), combining European and American frameworks in higher education.

ICLB provides advanced academic pathways, including Executive DBA (E-DBA) routes designed for busy professionals. These programmes incorporate Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL), enabling candidates to leverage their professional experience, and are delivered online with AI-supported flexibility to accommodate demanding schedules.

Complemented by AIS USA, this structure enables MYUNI to advise both individuals and institutions on the validation, recognition, and strategic positioning of qualifications across jurisdictions.

Together, these entities support the design of flexible academic pathways and provide institutions with strategic guidance on transnational education, double degrees, and APEL frameworks—bridging academic standards with global professional realities.

Validation of Professional Experience as a Degree

The validation of professional experience as a degree (commonly referred to as Recognition of Prior Learning — RPL, or Validation of Acquired Experience — VAE) is a structured process through which an individual's professional and experiential learning is formally assessed and recognised as equivalent to academic qualifications.

This approach is grounded in the principle that learning is not limited to formal education, but also occurs through professional practice, managerial responsibilities, and real-world problem-solving.

    Purpose

    The objective is to:

Recognise competencies acquired through professional experience

Provide access to formal qualifications or academic progression pathways

Align work-based learning with academic standards and frameworks

    Methodology

    1

    Eligibility Assessment

Minimum years of relevant professional experience and alignment with the targeted qualification level.

    2

    Portfolio of Evidence

Documentation of professional roles, responsibilities, and achievements demonstrating competencies mapped to academic learning outcomes.

    3

    Academic Mapping

Comparison of professional experience against curriculum standards and identification of equivalence with modules or full qualifications.

    4

    Assessment Process

Review by an academic or professional panel — interviews, case analysis, or practical demonstrations where required.

    5

    Award or Partial Recognition

Full degree equivalence or partial credit leading to accelerated completion of a formal qualification.

    Strategic Value

Supports lifelong learning and flexible education pathways

Enhances access to higher education for non-traditional learners

Strengthens links between industry and academia

Contributes to skills recognition in international and cross-border contexts

    Consultancy Application

    Designing regulatory and institutional policies

Ensuring compliance with national qualification frameworks

    Structuring assessment and governance mechanisms

Integrating validation pathways within existing academic programmes

Aligning recognition processes with international standards and mobility requirements

"Design and implementation of frameworks for the validation of professional experience into academic qualifications, enabling flexible and internationally aligned education pathways."

    Professional Qualification Validation

Assessment and validation of international professional qualifications for recognition in Jersey and other jurisdictions.

    Credential Equivalency

Mapping international academic credentials to local frameworks, ensuring proper recognition of overseas qualifications.

    Regulatory Advisory

Guidance on regulatory compliance for professionals seeking to practise in new jurisdictions.
